when they are running late it would be helpful to get some info about the current waiting time this would be helpful with regard to parking charges and possible fines.

Fortunately I do not have great need (8 times a year say) But I have no issues. It is probably unfair to generalise but I must say from my 80+ years experience that receptionists have changed out of all recognition to patient consideration as against doctor protection as was so often the case in the past

I wanted to speak to a doctor face to face. "On line" I was able to select the doctor I wanted to speak to, plus the day and the time that was convenient to me. All carried out in a few minutes on the surgery's web site. The day prior to the appointment I was sent a reminder by text to my mobile phone. Come the actual day my appointment was exactly on time and my doctor handled my situation in a swift, courteous and professional manner. The only improvement I could suggest would be that the patient be kept up to date with the follow up action agreed between doctor and patient.

I haven't had many appointments; my experience is mainly of bringing prescriptions in from specialists. On every occasion I've gone back to collect my script after the agreed time and it's not been written up. Also the doctors appear to be selective about which items they actually write up from the specialist's form, so it's pot luck what I get. I've even had the wrong item on one occasion (dangerous!) Oh and the parking's on a meter - this makes the service pretty much unusable for me. I wouldn't have registered if I'd known this so hopefully it'll help someone.

My request for an appointment at short notice was dealt with sympathetically and in a professional manner. I always find the receptionists happy, friendly, helpful and eager to please.
